Back in Solid Mechanics I, we looked at pressure vessels and how to analyse their stresses. In this chapter, we will be looking at general shell structures and how to analyse their stresses:

  • C1.1 Membrane Stress Equation - general equation to solve for the stress in shell structures
  • C1.2 Toroidal Shells - analysing donut-shaped shell structures
  • C1.3 Tori-spherical Shells - analysing shell structures with end-caps that have different radii
